Scenarios

Configure the number of threads and the IPMI, SNMP, SSH, and VMM protocols and the FTP service required when uMate is used.

No data preparation is required for this operation.

Procedure

  1. Double-click uMate.exe.

    The uMate main window is displayed, as shown in Figure 3-1.

  2. Click in the upper right corner.

    The System Configuration window is displayed, as shown in Figure 3-2. Table 3-1 describes the configuration items.

    Number of Operating Threads

    Specifies the number of threads to be executed concurrently for functions except inspection. For details about the number of concurrent processes of the inspection function, see CLI.

    IPMI LAN(RMCP)

    Specifies whether IPMI LAN (RMCP) is enabled.

    Select this option to enable it.

    SNMP V2C

    Specifies whether SNMPv2 protocol is enabled.

    Select this option to enable it.

    Insecure protocol

    This protocol is disabled by default.

    SNMP V3 MD5 AuthProtocol

    Specifies whether MD5 AuthProtocol is enabled.

    Select this option to enable it.

    Insecure protocol

    This protocol is enabled by default.

    SNMP V3 SHA AuthProtocol

    Specifies whether SHA AuthProtocol is enabled.

    Select this option to enable it.

    Secure protocol

    This protocol is enabled by default.

    SNMP V3 DES PrivProtocol

    Specifies whether DES PrivPriotocol is enabled.

    Select this option to enable it.

    Insecure protocol

    This protocol is enabled by default.

    SNMP V3 AES PrivProtocol

    Specifies whether AES PrivPriotocol is enabled.

    Select this option to enable it.

    Secure protocol

    This protocol is enabled by default.

    SSH/SFTP

    Specifies whether the SSH protocol is enabled.

    Select this option to enable it.

    Secure protocol

    This protocol is enabled by default.

    VMM

    Specifies whether to allow ports to be mounted via virtual media.

    Select this option to enable it.

    Secure protocol

    This protocol is enabled by default.

    The FTP parameters of local PC:

    Server IP

    Specifies the IP address of the local PC.

    -

    The IP address indicates only the IPv4 address.

    Server Port

    Specifies the FTP service port number.

    Default value: 21

    The parameter value cannot be changed.

    User Name

    Specifies the user name of the local PC.

    -

    Password

    Specifies the password of the local PC.

    • Enabling any insecure protocol listed in the preceding table may increase security risks. Secure protocols are recommended.
    • If both IPMI LAN(RMCP) and IPMI LAN(RMCP+) are disabled, uMate cannot access the server using IPMI commands and certain functions may be affected.
    • If both SNMP V3 MD5 AuthProtocol and SNMP V3 SHA AuthProtocol are disabled, uMate cannot access the server using SNMPv3 commands and certain functions may be affected.
    • If both SNMP V3 DES PrivProtocol and SNMP V3 AES PrivProtocol are disabled, uMate cannot access the server using SNMPv3 commands and certain functions may be affected.
    • If the uMate GUI is closed after the FTP service is started, the FTP service will be automatically stopped.
    NOTE:

    The setting takes effect immediately.

  3. Click Set to configure the number of threads (recommended value: 20).

    The number of threads is configured successfully.

  4. Click Set to determine whether to enable the IPMI, SNMP, and SSH protocols.

    The protocol configuration is complete.

  5. Click Set to configure the FTP service of the local PC, and click Start.

    The FTP service is started.
