Check whether the IP address of the server to be inspected can be successfully pinged and that the configuration file is correct.

Cannot login by SSH or SFTP

The server cannot be accessed using SSH or SFTP.

  1. Check whether the SSH port is enabled and the port number is correct. For details, see GUI and Viewing and Setting BMC Port Information.
  2. On the PC running uMate, use Xshell or other software to log in to the target server over SSH or SFTP, and Check whether the login is successful.
  3. Check whether the firmware version of the target server supports uMate. For details, see Viewing BMC Versions.

User name or password error, account is locked or not an administrator.

The user cannot log in using SSH because the user name or password is incorrect, the user is locked out, or the user is not an administrator.

Check whether the user name and password are correct. Check whether the user is locked and whether the user is an administrator.

User name or password error

The user name or password is incorrect.

Check whether the user name and password are correct.

Too many authentication failures

The user cannot log in using SSH because the user is locked out.

Check the BMC health status on the BMC WebUI.

Unsupported server

The server does not support uMate.
