Preparing for Installation

Before using uMate on Linux, ensure that:

  • A PC or server running Linux (supporting GUI) is available, and the minimum free memory is 1 GB.
  • The uMate installation package (tar.gz) for Linux is available.
  • IPMItool, Net-SNMP, and Python have been installed on Linux. For details, see Environmental Requirements.
  • The host name has been set correctly. For details, see Error Occurred During uMate Running on Linux.
  • The target servers are on the same LAN as the local PC.
  • You have learned the uMate compatibility. For details, see Compatibility List.
