Using the CLI to Collect FC switching plane Information

This topic describes how to use the CLI to collect the FC switching plane log (SupportSave log of the MX220).

Procedure

  1. Configure an SFTP server.

For details, see Transferring Files Using SFTP.

  2. Log in to the MX220.

For details, see Logging In to the MM910 CLI Over a Network Port by Using PuTTY or Logging In to a Compute Node or a Switch Module over MM910 SOL to access the FC switching plane CLI.

  3. Set the IP address of the MX210 and ensure that the MX210 properly communicates with the SFTP server.

For details, see Configuring the IP Address Using a Serial Port.

  4. Collect the supportsave logs on the CLI.

    1. Run the following command to save logs to the SFTP server.

      FC_SW:admin> supportsave

This command collects RASLOG, TRACE, supportShow, core file, FFDC data
and then transfer them to a FTP/SCP/SFTP server or a USB device.
This operation can take several minutes.
NOTE: supportSave will transfer existing trace dump file first, then
automatically generate and transfer latest one. There will be two trace dump
      files transferred after this command.
OK to proceed? (yes, y, no, n): [no] y
