This topic describes the logical structure of the CX710.

The CX710 logical architecture consists of three modules: baseboard management controller (BMC) module, CPU system module, and 40GE converged switch module, as shown in Figure 2-7.

  • As the CX710 management module, the BMC powers on and off nodes and modules, monitors the system, and upgrades components.
  • The CPU system module is the controlling core for the CX710. It processes network protocol packets and manages user configuration.
  • The 40GE switch module is the data processing core for the CX710. It forwards data between internal data processing modules and external network devices.
