Replacing a Power Module
This section explains how to replace a power module of the C72.
Prerequisites
- A replacement power module is ready.
- The power module that you want to replace has been located.
- The power cable has been disconnected from the power module that you want to replace.
Precaution
- Do not touch the connectors of a power module and a power cable.
- Use care when you remove and insert a disk module to avoid any damage to the appearance or connectors of the power module.
- Remove only one power module at a time.
- You are advised to replace a power module within the shortest time possible.
Procedure
- Wear an ESD wrist strap.
- Press the latch on the power module and pull out the power module, as shown in Figure 5-11.
- Place the removed power module into an ESD bag.
- Take the replacement power module out of its ESD bag.
- Insert the replacement power module into the empty slot until it clicks into place, as shown in Figure 5-12.
- Connect the power cable and secure it to the power socket.
- Wait about two minutes and check the status of the activity indicator on the power module to determine whether the power module is successfully installed. Figure 5-13 shows the location of the status indicator.
- If the indicator is steady green, the power module is successfully installed.
- If the indicator is off, the newly installed power module is faulty, the slot that houses the power module is faulty, or the power module is incorrectly installed.
