Precautions When Replacing Parts

Precautions When Replacing Parts

This section describes the precautions that should be considered when replacing components.

  • Only professional technical support engineers are allowed to remove the main control board enclosure cover to replace the components and adjust RAID configurations.
  • Before removing the rear cover of the chassis to replace the parts in the device, power off the device and disconnect the device from the power sockets and other devices.
  • Be cautious to power off the device because this operation will affect services on the device.
  • For a P12E/P25E/P36E/C36E/P12X/P25X/P36X/C36X node, do not use F9 to restore the BIOS default settings.
  • For a P12E/P25E/P36E/C36E/P12X/P25X/P36X/C36X node, do not enable the NUMA function in the BIOS.

Do not touch the connectors of the power supply and communication cables. Current in the power source and cables may hurt your body when you touch the connectors.

Observe the following when replacing components:
  • Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves to avoid injuring yourself and damaging the device.
  • Ensure that the sleeves are fastened or curved to elbow and wear no accessories, watch, glasses with metal frame, and clothes with metal buttons.
  • Keep the workspace clean.
  • Do not forcibly plug components in or out or use excessive force during the operation. This helps prevent component damage, such as bent pins or short circuits, to the units of the components or their appearance.
  • Ensure that the device is properly grounded.
