Performing Primary/Secondary Switchover of a Consistency Group

This operation enables you to switch between the primary LUNs and the secondary LUNs in a consistency group. When the primary LUNs in a consistency group fail, you can initiate a primary/secondary switchover to enable the secondary LUNs to become the new primary LUNs, taking over services from the original primary LUNs to ensure service continuity.

Prerequisites

Based on Running Status of a consistency group and Secondary LUN Data Status of the remote replications added to the consistency group, determine whether a primary/secondary switchover can be performed for the consistency group, as shown in Table 4-27.

Procedure

  1. Go to the consistency group management page.
    1. On the right navigation bar, click .

      The data protection page is displayed.

    2. In the left function pane, click Remote Replication.
    3. Click the Remote Replication Consistency Group tab.

      The consistency group management page is displayed.

  2. Primary/Secondary sitchover of a consistency group.
    1. Right-click the consistency group you want to perform primary/secondary switchover and choose Primary/Secondary Switchover.

      The Danger message box is displayed.

  3. Confirm the operation.
    1. Confirm information in the dialog box. Then select I have read and understood the consequences associated with performing this operation. and click OK.
    2. Click OK.

      The Success message box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.

    3. Click OK.
