Synchronizing a Consistency Group

Synchronizing a Consistency Group

This operation enables all remote replication pairs contained in a consistency group to initiate data synchronization simultaneously so that data is synchronized from all primary LUNs to all secondary LUNs at the same point in time, ensuring data validity.

Prerequisites

  • This operation can be performed only on the primary device of a consistency group.
  • Secondary resource protection has been enabled.
  • Based on Running Status of a consistency group, determine whether data synchronization can be performed for the consistency group, as shown in Table 4-25.

Precautions

When synchronous consistency groups are synchronizing, if the storage system has a controller reset, which may cause synchronization failure in some remote replication tasks, the consistency groups cannot guarantee data consistency.

Procedure

  1. Go to the consistency group management page.
    1. On the right navigation bar, click .

The data protection page is displayed.

    2. In the left function pane, click Remote Replication.
    3. Click the Remote Replication Consistency Group tab.

The consistency group management page is displayed.

  2. Right-click the consistency group you want to synchronize and choose Synchronize.

The security alert dialog box is displayed.

  3. Confirm the operation.
    1. Confirm information in the dialog box. Then select I have read and understood the consequences associated with performing this operation. and click OK.
    2. Click OK.

The Success message is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.

    3. Click OK.
