Removing a Remote Replication

This operation enables you to remove a remote replication pair from a consistency group. Data of secondary resource of a removed remote replication will not be consistent with data of secondary resources of other remote replication pairs in the consistency group in terms of synchronization point in time.


  • The consistency group is split.
  • A remote replication pair can be removed only when the Role of the consistency group is Primary.


  • When a remote replication pair cannot be removed due to a link failure, delete the consistency group to which the remote replication belongs.
  • Once a remote replication pair is removed from the consistency group, the remote replication pair will work according to its own replication properties.


  1. Go to the dialog box for removing a remote replication.
    1. On the right navigation bar, click .

      The data protection page is displayed.

    2. In the left function pane, click Remote Replication.
    3. Click the Remote Replication Consistency Group tab.

      The consistency group management page is displayed.

    4. Right-click a consistency group from which you want to remove a remote replication and choose Remove Remote Replication

      The Remove Remote Replication Pairs dialog box is displayed.

  2. From the Available Remote Replications Pairs list, select a remote replication and click Right Arrow to remove it.
  3. Confirm the operation.
    1. Click OK.

      The Results message box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.

    2. Click Close.
