How to Implement Default Routes

How to Implement Default Routes

  • Configure an IPv4 default route with the next-hop address

    <Huawei> system-view
    [Huawei] ip route-static
  • Configure an IPv6 default route with the next-hop address fc00:0:0:2002::2.

    <Huawei> system-view
    [Huawei] ipv6 route-static 0::0 0 fc00:0:0:2002::2

More Information

A default route is a static route with the destination address and mask being all 0s. If a packet does not match any route in an IP routing table, this packet is forwarded using a default route.
