Can Huawei Routers Be Interconnected with Devices from Other Vendors Through BFD?

Can Huawei Routers Be Interconnected with Devices from Other Vendors Through BFD?

AR routers use standard BFD and can be interconnected with devices from other vendors. During the interconnection, ensure that the local discriminator of the local system is the same as the remote discriminator of the remote system and that the remote discriminator of the local system is the same as the local discriminator of the remote system. Otherwise, BFD sessions cannot be established.

Devices from some vendors do not support static BFD. Therefore, you are advised to configure dynamic BFD on Huawei routers to interconnect them with peer devices.
