A User Fails to Log In to the AR's Web NMS

This section describes how to configure and log in to the AR's web NMS.

Fault Symptom

A user fails to log in to the AR's web NMS from the PC.

Fault Analysis

HTTP is disabled on the AR and the AR configuration is incorrect.

Procedure

  1. Check the IP address of the AR and check whether there is a reachable route between the AR and PC.

    Run the display ip interface brief command on the AR to check the IP address of the AR.

    Run the ping command on the PC. If the AR's IP address can be pinged, there is a reachable route.

  2. Enable HTTP and load the web package.
    <Huawei> system-view
    [Huawei] http server enable
    [Huawei] http server load web.zip
    NOTE:

    When new system software is uploaded on the AR, the system software contains the web page file. After HTTP is enabled on the AR using the http server enable command, the AR extracts web.zip from the system software to the memory. You do not need to load the web package again. If the web package is updated separately, you need to run the http server load command.

    If you fail to log in to the web system because the web page file is damaged, load a new system software and run the http server enable command to load the correct web page file on the device.

  3. Configure a web user account.

    Configure the login user name, password, user right, and service type.

    [Huawei-aaa] local-user admin service-type http
    [Huawei-aaa] quit
  4. Open the browser software (Windows IE7.0 is used as an example) on the PC, enter http://10.136.23.5 in the address bar, and press Enter. The web NMS login page is displayed.

    NOTE:

    To log in to the voice self-service system, run the self-service-http-server command in the voice view to enter the self-service HTTP server view and run the self-service http server enable command to enable the self-service HTTP server.

Enter the correct user name and password. You can access the web NMS management page.

Suggestion

The web NMS configuration is simple. If the web NMS is unavailable, check the following configurations:

  1. Check whether there is a reachable route between the AR and PC.
  2. Check whether HTTP is enabled.
  3. Check whether the user right and service type are correctly configured.
