How Can I Make an AR Router Reboot at a Fixed Time

In a scenario where a device needs to be rebooted because of an upgrade or other requirements, you can make the device reboot at a fixed time in the future to minimize the impact on services. The following methods are available for you to make an AR router to reboot at a time when the service volume is small.

Table 29-41  Setting the reboot time of an AR router

Run the schedule reboot at time command to set the periodic reboot function of the AR router.

The format of time is hh:mm YYYY-MM-DD. The reboot time must be later than the current device time by less than 720 hours. YYYY-MM-DD indicates year, month, and date and is optional. In the parameter:

  • hh indicates hour and the value ranges from 0 to 23.
  • mm indicates minute and the value ranges from 0 to 59.
  • YYYY indicates year and the value ranges from 2000 to 2099.
  • MM indicates month and the value ranges from 1 to 12.
  • DD indicates day and the value ranges from 1 to 31.

Run the following command to set the reboot time of the AR router. For example, make the AR router reboot at 23:00 on July 26, 2018.

<Huawei> schedule reboot at 23:00 2018-07-26
Info:Reboot system at 23:00:00 2018/07/26(in 10 hours and 10 minutes) confirm?[Y/N]:y

Configure the periodic reboot function of the AR router through a periodic assistant task.

  3. Run the system-view command to enter the system view on the AR router.

  4. Run the assistant task task-name command to create an assistant task. A maximum of five assistant tasks can be created.

  5. Run the if-match timer cron seconds minutes hours days-of-month months days-of-week [ years ] command to specify the time when the assistant task works.

  6. Run the perform priority batch-file filename command to configure the processing operations of the assistant task.
