Device Restarts Unexpectedly

Fault Description

The device restarts unexpectedly or repeatedly.

Possible Cause

  • The device is reset because of a deadloop or fault.

  • The hardware is faulty or the software has a bug.

Troubleshooting Procedure

  1. Ensure that the device resetting is not caused by USB deployment, CWMP, or Auto-Config deployment.

    Run the display reset-reason command to check the cause of device resetting.

    In V200R500C00 and later versions, the display reset-reason command is changed from all views to the diagnosis view.

    • If the message "The MPU has been pulled out or has not been powered on" is displayed, the board is removed or powered off.
    • If the message "Reset by user command" is displayed, the device is reset manually.
    • If the message "Reboot by USB upgrade" is displayed, the device is reset because of the USB deployment.
    • If the message "Reboot by ACS with Reboot RPC method" is displayed, the device is reset because of the the ACS of the CWMP module calls the Reboot RPC method.
    • If the message "Reboot by autoconfig" is displayed, the device is reset because of the Auto-Config deployment.
  2. If the fault is not caused by the preceding reasons, a hardware fault occurs or the software has bugs. Contact technical support personnel.

    Perform the following operations to collect related information and provide the information to the technical support personnel.

    Do not power off the device before information is collected.

    1. Collect information according to Information Collection.
    2. Run the following commands to collect related information.

      [Huawei-diagnose] display inspect black-box record 6 0 0 0
      [Huawei-diagnose] display inspect black-box record 8 0 0 0
