Can an AR Router Serve as a Fat AP?

Only AR routers whose names contain W (such as AR151W-P-W, AR1220W-S, AR502EGW-L) can serve as Fat APs.

More Information

AR routers can serve as the following types of APs:

  • Fat AP: provides the WLAN access service for users as well as enhanced functions such as security and management.

  • Fit AP: connects to an AC and works with the AC to provide the WLAN access service for users. Compared with traditional Fat APs, Fit APs only provide reliable, high-performance wireless connections. Other enhanced functions are configured on the AC.
