Traffic Does Not Match a Traffic Classifier

Traffic Does Not Match a Traffic Classifier

Problem Description

The web page opening speed and video download speed are slow.

Cause Analysis

Run the display traffic policy statistics command to check statistics on packets matching a traffic policy on an interface.

<Huawei> display traffic policy statistics interface gigabitEthernet 0/0/0 outbound verbose classifier-base

 Interface: GigabitEthernet0/0/0
 Traffic policy outbound: p
 Rule number: 1
 Current status: OK!
 Classifier: c operator or
 Behavior: b
Item Sum(Packets/Bytes) Rate(pps/bps)
Matched 0/0 0/0
  Passed 0/0 0/0

  Enqueued 0/0 0/0
  Discarded 0/0 0/0
  CAR 0/0 0/0
    Green packets 0/0 0/0
    Yellow packets 0/0 0/0
    Red packets 0/0 0/0
Item Sum(Packets/Bytes) Rate(pps/bps)
  Queue Matched 0/0 0/0
    Enqueued 0/0 0/0
    Discarded 0/0 0/0

Check the value of Matched. If the value of Matched is 0, packets do not match the traffic classifier. The packets that do not match the configured traffic classifier should match the default traffic classifier default-class; otherwise, packets are not sent by the interface. If the packets that should match another traffic classifier match the default traffic classifier preferentially, the traffic classifier configuration is incorrect. Check the traffic classifier configuration.

Traffic classification methods of some applications are special. For example, after packets are encapsulated with the GRE or IPSec header, the ACL still matches the original destination IP address of packets.

  1. Run the display traffic classifier command to check configured traffic classifiers.
    <Huawei> display traffic classifier user-defined
      User Defined Classifier Information:
       Classifier: c
        Operator: OR
        Rule(s) :
         if-match acl 3000
  2. Run the traffic classifier command to reconfigure a traffic classifier.

When this problem occurs, check configured traffic classifiers. The common cause is that the traffic classifier configuration is incorrect. To solve the problem, reconfigure a traffic classifier. If the fault persists, contact Huawei technical support personnel.
