Common ADSL/VDSL Interface Interconnection Faults

This section provides typical cases about the G.SHDSL interface interconnection.

Fault Symptom

The ADSL/VDSL interface cannot be activated.

Possible Causes

  • The line connected to the ADSL/VDSL interface is faulty.
  • The ADSL/VDSL configuration on the AR and DSLAM is inconsistent.
  • There are electromagnetic interference sources such as electric motors, transformers, and electric generator along the xDSL line.
  • There is the xDSL connectivity fault.

Troubleshooting Procedure

  1. Check the cable connected to the xDSL interface of the AR and contact the carrier to check the xDSL line.
  2. If there is only one ADSL/VDSL interface on the AR card, contact the carrier to check whether bonding is configured on the DSLAM.
  3. Leave the xDSL line far away form the electromagnetic interference sources.
  4. If the fault persists, contact Huawei after-sales engineers and check whether there is the IOP interworking problem.

    NOTE:

    Performing the preceding operations can solve most problems of the ADSL/VDSL interface interconnection.
