How Do I Determine Whether Data Flows Are Transmitted over an IPSec Tunnel?

How Do I Determine Whether Data Flows Are Transmitted over an IPSec Tunnel?

You can determine whether data flows are transmitted over an IPSec tunnel in either of the following ways:
  • In the user view, run the reset ipsec statistics command to clear historical statistics on IPSec packets, and then run the display ipsec statistics command to check statistics on IPSec packets. If neither the statistics on incoming and outgoing security-protected packets nor the statistics on encrypted and decrypted packets is zero, data flows are transmitted over an IPSec tunnel.
  • In the user view, run the debugging ipsec packet command to enable debugging for IPSec packet exchange. If packet exchange is detected, data flows are transmitted over an IPSec tunnel.
