Web-based Typical Configuration Examples

Specifications

This example applies to all AR models of V200R005C20 to V200R007C00 versions.

Networking Requirements

As shown in Figure 7-3, the AP is directly connected to the AC. An enterprise branch needs to deploy WLAN services for mobile office so that branch users can access the enterprise internal network from anywhere at any time.

The following requirements must be met:
  • A WLAN named huawei-1 is available.
  • Branch users are assigned IP addresses on 192.168.11.0/24.

Procedure

  1. Add Eth0/0/0 to VLAN 10 and VLAN 20.

    1. Choose Configuration Wizard > AP Online Configuration Wizard. The AP Online Configuration Wizard dialog box is displayed.

    2. In Ethernet Interface, click next to the Ethernet interface Eth0/0/0 and add Eth0/0/0 to VLAN 10 and VLAN 20 as a trunk interface and set VLAN 10 as the default vlan.

    3. Click OK.

    4. Click Next.

  2. Configure VLANIF 10 and VLANIF 20.

    1. Select the search criteria and search the items that meet requirements. Click Create to create virtual interface VLANIF10.

    2. Select the search criteria and search the items that meet requirements. Click Create to create virtual interface VLANIF20.

    3. In the Virtual Interface area, click on the right side of the virtual interface to modify its configurations.

    4. Click Next.

  3. Configure DHCP.

    1. Click Create to create a DHCP address pool on VLANIF 10 to assign IP addresses to APs. Set related parameters.

    2. Click Create to create a DHCP address pool on VLANIF 20 to assign IP addresses to STAs. Set related parameters.

    3. In the IP Pool List area, click on the right side of the IP address pool to modify its configurations.

    4. Click Next.

  4. Configure the AC.

    1. On the Configure AC tab page, set parameters as needed. Set AC source address to VLANIF 10.

    2. Click Next.

  5. Confirm the settings.

    1. You can check the detailed information about AP login.

    2. Click Finish. The AP Online Configuration Wizard configuration is complete.

  6. Select a WLAN service type.

    1. Choose Configuration Wizard > WLAN Configuration Wizard > WLAN Configuration Wizard. The WLAN Configuration Wizard dialog box is displayed.

    2. Select Common WLAN Service and click Next.

  7. Configure an AP.

    1. On the Configure AP tab page that is displayed, set Search and click Go. The AP matching the search criteria is displayed. Alternatively, you can click Create, select or enter parameters in the Create AP dialog box, and click OK. An AP is created.
      NOTE:

      You can also choose WLAN AC > AP Management > AP Info. On the AP Info page that is displayed, add or delete an AP, or modify the AP parameters.

    2. Select the AP that you want to configure. In this example, ap-0 connects to the Eth0/0/0 interface.

    3. Click Next.

  8. Configure a radio.
    1. Configure a radio for common WLAN services. Set Radio to 2.4 GHz.

    2. Configure a radio profile for common WLAN services.

      1. Click of Radio Profile. The Radio Profile page is displayed.

      2. Click Create. A radio profile is created. On the Create Radio Profile page that is displayed, select or enter parameters and click OK. The radio profile huawei-1 is created.
        NOTE:

        You can also choose WLAN AC > Radio Profile. On the Radio Profile page that is displayed, add or delete a radio profile, or modify the radio profile parameters.

      3. On the Radio Profile page, select the radio profile huawei-1 and click OK.

    3. On the Configure Radio page, select or enter parameters to configure the radio. As shown in the following figure, this example uses the default radio settings.

    4. Click Next.
  9. Configure the wireless service.

    1. Click Create and set related parameters. Set the SSID to huawei-1 and service VLAN to VLAN 20.

    2. Click next to ESS interface. The ESS interface page is displayed.

    3. Click Create and set related parameters. Add WLAN-ESS 20 to VLAN 20 in tagged mode. Click OK.

    4. Click next to ESS interface and select Wlan-Ess20. Click OK.

    5. Select your desired service set (service). Click Next.

  10. Confirm the configuration.

    1. Check the detailed information about the Internet access configuration.

    2. Click Finish.

    3. In the Are you sure you want to commit configuration to APs immediately? dialog box that is displayed, click Yes or No.

  11. Verify the configuration.

    # The WLAN with the SSID huawei-1 is available for STAs, and these STAs can connect to the WLAN.

Configuration Notes

The DHCP service function must be enabled on the VLAN interface. Otherwise, the STA that connects to the WLAN cannot obtain an IP address.
