This document describes the features, appearance, and technical specifications of the 5288 V3 server, and how to install, power on, and power off the 5288 V3 server, connect cables, and install an operating system (OS) for it.

Installing the RAID Controller Card on the Mainboard

Install a RAID controller card to replace the original one.


  1. Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see Safety Instructions.
  2. Remove the RAID controller card to be replaced. For details, see Removing the RAID Controller Card from the Mainboard.
  3. Take the spare RAID controller card out of its ESD bag.
  4. (Optional) Remove the rubber plugs from the ports on the RAID controller card if any. See Figure 7-59.

  5. Align the connector on the RAID controller card with the port on the mainboard, and insert the RAID controller card slowly into the mainboard. See step (1) in Figure 7-60.

  6. Tighten the screws on the RAID controller card. See step (2) in Figure 7-60.
  7. Connect cables to the RAID controller card. For details, see Internal Cabling.
  8. Install full-height full-length riser cards if they are required. For details, see Installing a Riser Card.
  9. Install the chassis cover. For details, see Installing the Chassis Cover.
  10. Install the 5288 V3. For details, see Installing the Server.
  11. Connect all internal cables such as power and network cables. For details, see Connecting External Cables.
  12. Power on the 5288 V3. For details, see Powering On the Server.
  13. Log in to the RAID configuration screen to check whether RAID configuration needs to be imported or activated. For details, see the HUAWEI V2&V3 Server RAID Controller Card User Guide.
