Installing an M.2 SATA SSD Card

Install an M.2 SATA SSD card to replace the original one. An M.2 SSD riser card can be configured with two M.2 SATA SSD cards. The replacement method is the same for the two M.2 SATA SSD cards. An M.2 SATA SSD card using the external SATA1 port is used as an example in this topic.

Procedure

  1. Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see Safety Instructions.
  2. Remove the M.2 SATA SSD card to be replaced. For details, see Removing an M.2 SATA SSD Card.
  3. Take the spare M.2 SATA SSD card out of its ESD bag.
  4. Slot the M.2 SATA SSD card into the M.2 SSD riser at a 20° to 30° angle and position it horizontally. See step (1) in Figure 7-125.

  5. Tighten the screw on the M.2 SATA SSD card. See step (2) in Figure 7-125.
  6. Install the M.2 SSD riser card.

  7. Connect the cable to the M.2 SSD riser card. For details, see M.2 SSD Riser Card Cabling in Internal Cabling.
  8. Install the chassis cover. For details, see Installing the Chassis Cover.
  9. Install the 5288 V3. For details, see Installing the Server.
  10. Connect all internal cables such as power and network cables. For details, see Connecting External Cables.
  11. Power on the 5288 V3. For details, see Powering On the Server.
