This document describes the features, appearance, and technical specifications of the 5288 V3 server, and how to install, power on, and power off the 5288 V3 server, connect cables, and install an operating system (OS) for it.

Indicators and Buttons

Front Panel

You can observe the indicators to determine the status of the 5288 V3.

Table 2-5 describes the indicators and buttons on the 5288 V3 front panel.

Fault diagnosis LED

Power button/indicator

  • Off: The server is not powered on.
  • Blinking yellow: iBMC is being started.
  • Steady yellow: The system is in the standby state.
  • Steady green: The system is properly powered on.
NOTE:
  • When the server is powered on, you can press this button to shut down the OS.
  • When the server is powered on, you can hold down this button for 6 seconds to power off the server.
  • When the server is ready to be powered on, you can press this button to start the server.

UID button/indicator

The UID button/indicator helps identify and locate a server in a rack. You can turn on or off the UID indicator by manually pressing the UID button or remotely running a command on the iBMC CLI.

  • Off: The server is not located.
  • Steady blue: The server is located.
NOTE:
  • You can press this button to turn on or off the UID indicator.
  • You can press and hold down this button for 4 to 6 seconds to reset the iBMC.

Health indicator

  • Steady green: The server is operating properly.
  • Blinking red at 1 Hz: A major alarm is generated.
  • Blinking red at 5 Hz: A critical alarm is generated.

Hard disk activity indicator

  • Off: The hard disk is not detected or is faulty.
  • Blinking green: Data is being read from or written to the hard disk, or synchronized between hard disks.
  • Steady green: The hard disk is inactive.

Hard disk fault indicator

  • Off: The hard disk is working properly.
  • Blinking yellow: The hard disk is located, or rebuilding RAID.
  • Steady yellow: The hard disk is faulty, or hard disk members of the RAID array the hard disk is in are abnormal.
NOTE:

If the fault indicator is steady yellow, run related commands to check the RAID status to determine whether the RAID array status is abnormal or whether the hard disk is faulty. For details about command description, see HUAWEI V2&V3 Server RAID Controller Card User Guide.

Network port link status indicators

The indicators show the status of each Ethernet port on the flexible NIC.

  • Off: The port is not in use or faulty.
  • Steady green: The port is properly connected.
NOTE:

If the flexible NIC provides two network ports, they correspond to network port indicators 1 and 2 on the front panel.

Rear Panel

Table 2-6 describes the indicators on the 5288 V3 rear panel.

  • Off: The network port is not connected.
  • Steady green: The network port is properly connected.

  • Off: The server is not located.
  • Steady blue: The server is located.

PSU indicator

750 W AC Platinum PSU

  • Off: There is no AC power input; the input overvoltage or undervoltage occurs and the PSU is not detected; the PSU is abnormal.
  • Steady green: Both the active output and the standby output are normal.

Hard disk activity indicator

  • Off: The hard disk is not detected or is faulty.
  • Blinking green: Data is being read from or written to the hard disk, or synchronized between hard disks.
  • Steady green: The hard disk is inactive.

  • Off: The hard disk is working properly.
  • Blinking yellow: The hard disk is located, or rebuilding RAID.
