Performing the Upgrade

Performing the Upgrade

Upgrade the iBMC.

The following uses iBMC 2.50 as an example. The Upgrade Firmware page may vary according to iBMC versions.

  • The system user name and password remain unchanged after the upgrade.
  • The active and standby images of the iBMC must be upgraded separately.
  • Upgrade the standby image first. After the standby image is upgraded, restart the iBMC and upgrade the original active image.

Impact on the System

Upgrading the iBMC will cause the iBMC system to restart twice. Perform the upgrade during the off-peak hours.

  • You have logged in to the iBMC WebUI. For details, see Logging In to the iBMC WebUI.
  • No minor alarm, major alarm, or critical alarm is generated on the iBMC.

Data preparation is not required for this operation.

You have obtained image.hpm. For details, see Obtaining the Upgrade Packages and Documents.
