License Application: How Do I Deploy Licenses in a Cloud AC Scenario?
In a cloud AC scenario, iMaster NCE-Campus can manage the cloud AC and online APs on the cloud AC only after the licenses within the validity period are loaded for the cloud AC and APs, thereby ensuring that WLAN services can run properly.
If the license for the cloud AC expires but that for APs does not expire, the cloud AC and APs cannot be managed by iMaster NCE-Campus. If the version of the cloud AC is earlier than V200R021C10, the APs cannot go online. If the version of the cloud AC is V200R021C10 or later, the APs can still go online.
If the license for the cloud AC does not expire but that for APs expires, iMaster NCE-Campus can still manage the cloud AC but not the APs. In this case, you need to purchase the license for APs in a timely manner to prevent WLAN services from being affected. In V200R022C00 and later versions, if a traditional license is installed on the AC, the local traditional license is automatically in effect when the N1 license expires to prevent AP disconnection and service interruption. In versions earlier than V200R022C00, you need to manually configure the AC to work in traditional mode so that the local traditional license takes effect.
In the V600 version, the cloud AC mode is supported from V600R023C00, which does not need the configuration the AC's working mode. After the N1 license for cloud management expires, the local traditional license is automatically used.
N1 licenses need to be managed on iMaster NCE-Campus. For details about common license operations on iMaster NCE-Campus, see the iMaster NCE-Campus License Usage Guide.
