Obtaining COMM Licenses for New Site Projects
Context
COMM licenses are applicable to commercial deployment with contracts.
Two methods are available for obtaining COMM licenses in new site deployment scenarios: entitlement activation and password activation. To activate a license using an entitlement, enter search criteria (such as the contract No., order No., and entitlement ID) and based on the search result, activate the entitlement. To activate a license using a password (supported only by customers), obtain the activation password from the license certificate and activate the license using the password.
Procedure
- Entitlement activation
Activate an entitlement online by binding it to an equipment serial number (ESN), so as to generate a license.
If a large number of entitlements need to be activated, you can activate them in batches. For details, see Batch entitlement activation.
- Only entitlements whose delivery status is Ready can be activated.
- If the entered ESN does not exist in the system but meets the ESN verification rules, an ESN will be created.
- If an entitlement uses the SnS model, the entitlement can be activated only when the SnS service on the equipment (node) is within the validity period.
- Activated entitlements with the same version, product, and configuration list are automatically combined.

- Enter search criteria and click Search.
Path: License Management > License Activation > Entitlement Activation (Recommended)
- Select the entitlement to activate and click Activation.
- Enter the ESN and equipment (node) name, and click Next.
- Verify the data and click Confirm Activation.
- After successful activation, click Download to download the license file to the local PC.
- Batch entitlement activation
- Enter search criteria and click Search.
Path: License Management > License Activation > Entitlement Activation (Recommended)
- Select a record and click Batch Activation > Export Entitlements. Click Batch Activation > Export Entitlements to export all search results.
- Enter ESNs and save the file.
- Choose Batch Activation > Import for Activation.
- Select the corresponding file and click Upload.
- After the file is uploaded successfully, click Confirm Activation.
- After successful activation, click Download to download the license file to the local PC.
- Enter search criteria and click Search.
- Password activation
- Find the activation password in the "Proof of Entitlement."
- Enter the activation password and an ESN, and click Next.

- Enter the company name and click Confirm Activation.
- After successful activation, click Download.
- Find the activation password in the "Proof of Entitlement."
