Installing Licenses
Procedure (CLI)
- Upload a license file to the root directory of the storage medium on the device.
You can upload the license file to the device in one of the following ways:
- Configure a PC as the TFTP server to upload the file.
- Configure the TFTP server. Set the working directory to the directory where the license file is stored.
- Run the tftp tftp-server get source-filename command on the device to download the license file.
- Configure a PC as the FTP server to upload the file.
- Configure an FTP server, create the user name and password, and set an FTP folder.
- Run the ftp host-ip [ port-number ] command on the device to log in to the FTP server.
- Enter the FTP server user name and password.
- Run the get remote-filename command to download the license file to the device.
- Upload the license file to the device (FTP server) from an FTP client.
- Run the system-view command to enter the system view.
- Run the ftp [ ipv6 ] server enable command to enable the FTP server function.
- Run the aaa command to access the AAA view.
- Run the local-user user-name password command to configure the local user name and password.
- Run the local-user user-name privilege level level command to set the privilege level for the local user.
The user privilege level must be set to 3 or higher, so that FTP connections can be successfully established.
- Run the local-user user-name service-type ftp command to configure the FTP service type.
- Run the local-user user-name ftp-directory directory command to configure the authorized directory for the FTP user.
- Open the command prompt window on the PC, go to the directory where the license file is stored, run the ftp host-ip command, and enter the user name and password as prompted to log in to the device.
- Run the put local-filename command to upload the license file to the device. The uploaded file is saved in the default directory of the device.
- Configure a PC as the TFTP server to upload the file.
- Run the license active file-name command to activate the license file.
If the following information is displayed when you activate the license file, the license is successfully activated:
Info: Succeeded in activating the license file ...
- Run the display license command to check whether information about the loaded license file is the same as that in the application request.
Procedure (Web)
V200:
- Log in to the web system and choose
- Click Load. In the dialog box that is displayed, upload the license file, select the license file, and click OK.
- Verify that license resource information on the page is the same as the applied license.
V600:
- Log in to the web system and choose
- In the License Loading area, choose Browse. In the dialog box that is displayed, select the license file saved on the local PC and click Active.
- Verify that license resource information on the page is the same as the applied license.
Follow-up Procedure
If the license file cannot be activated, rectify the fault by referring to License Fails to Be Activated.
