License Application: How Do I Deploy Licenses in the Navi AC Scenario?
In the Navi AC scenario, two AC roles are involved: Navi AC and local AC.
The local AC manages local APs. You need to apply for licenses based on the number of managed APs and activate the licenses on the local AC. Local ACs support AC backup, and licenses can be synchronized between the active and standby ACs.
Four AP licenses are required for the Navi AC to establish a CAPWAP link with the local AC for communication. The Navi AC supports AC backup (VRRP HSB), and licenses can be synchronized between the master and backup ACs.
- If the Navi AC does not manage APs locally, apply for four AP licenses for the Navi AC and activate the licenses on the Navi AC.
- If the Navi AC manages APs locally, apply for licenses based on the number of managed APs plus four and activate the licenses on the Navi AC.
The centralized license control function can be deployed between the Navi AC and local AC. For details about the backup scenario and the centralized license control function, see License Application: How Do I Configure Licenses for ACs in Backup Mode?.
