Replacing an Indicator Board

This section explains how to replace an indicator board.


  • A replacement indicator board is ready.
  • The indicator board that you want to replace has been located. The cabinet door has one upper and one lower indicator boards, which can be replaced using the same method. This section shows how to replace an upper indicator board.


Remove and insert the indicator board with even force. Excessive force may damage the appearance or connectors of the indicator board.

Tools and Materials

  • ESD wrist strap
  • ESD bag
  • Label
  • Phillips screwdriver


  1. Wear an ESD wrist strap. Open the front cabinet door.
  2. Remove the indicator board to be replaced.
    1. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws of the indicator board's cover, slightly lift the cover, and then remove it, as shown in Figure 13-7.

    2. Remove cables connected to the indicator board.


      Two conversion cables need to be removed for an upper board. Two conversion cables and two input cables need to be removed for a lower board.

    3. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws of the indicator board and remove the board from the cabinet door.
  3. Install the indicator board.
    1. Take the replacement indicator board out of the ESD bag.
    2. Install the indicator board to the cabinet and fix it using screws.
    3. Connect cables.
    4. Install the indicator board's cover and fix it using screws.
  4. If the cabinet indicator is green, the indicator board is replaced successfully.

Follow-up Procedure

After the indicator board is replaced, label it for subsequent operations.
