Antivirus Service Overview

Antivirus Service Overview

When file services are running in a storage system and the file system is shared to a client using the CIFS sharing function, the security of the storage system can be enhanced by using a piece of third-party antivirus software for scanning and clearing the files infected by virus.

Figure 3-2 shows the process of configuring an antivirus service.

  • Deploy antivirus servers and storage systems in networks that are in the same trusted domain. If antivirus servers are deployed in an independent public network, ensure that the links between the storage systems and the antivirus servers are secure. Otherwise, information leakage risks exist.
  • Ensure that a logical port has been configured for each controller of the storage system. The logical port is used to connect to the server of the antivirus service. In addition, ensure that the logical port IP addresses of the storage system can communicate with the service network port IP addresses of the antivirus service server. You are advised to enable the IP addresses to be on a same LAN. For details about how to configure a logical port, see OceanStor 5300 V3&5500 V3&5600 V3&5800 V3&6800 V3 Storage System V300R003 Basic Storage Service Guide for File.
  • The management network port IP addresses of the AD domain server, storage system, and antivirus service server must be configured on the same network segment.
