Routine maintenance activities are the most common activities for the storage device, including powering on or off the storage device, managing users, modifying basic parameters of the storage device, and managing hardware components. This document applies to the system administrators who are responsible for carrying out routine maintenance activities, monitoring the storage device, and rectifying common device faults.

Replacing the Security Certificate for OceanStor SystemReporter

OceanStor SystemReporter uses a self-signed certificate, and you can replace the self-signed certificate with a certificate trusted by the browser. This section describes how to replace the security certificate for OceanStor SystemReporter.


The security certificate has been generated.


  • A certificate is a declaration with a digital signature from an entity (issuer). The certificate provides identity authentication for the communications parties.
  • If the OceanStor SystemReporter's self-signed certificate is not trusted by your browser, you can replace the certificate with a certificate trusted by your browser.


  1. Log in as user Administrator to the server where OceanStor SystemReporter is installed.
  2. Go to the installation directory of OceanStor SystemReporter, for example, C:\Runtime\bin.
  3. Double-click the shutdownSystem.bat file, enter y or Y, and press Enter to disable the OceanStor SystemReporter service.
  4. On the CLI, run cd /D C:\Runtime\bin to switch from the current directory to the installation directory.
    1. On the CLI, run replace_cert.bat.
    2. Type the new location of the certificate file, for example, C:\customStore\server.keystore, and press Enter.
  5. Enter the password of the certificate key database according to the prompt and press Enter.
  6. Enter the password of the certificate key database to confirm the certificate replacement and press Enter. The certificate is successfully replaced.

Follow-up Procedure

Restart OceanStor SystemReporter. Then you can use the new certificate to log in.
