Setting a Real-Time Scan Task

Setting a Real-Time Scan Task

When a CIFS shared file is closed, the antivirus server will scan the file immediately based on the configured scan policy.

Creating a Real-Time Scan Policy

This section describes how to create a real-time scan policy for an antivirus server.

Prerequisites

  • The storage system and the antivirus server are working properly.
  • The file system has been shared through CIFS.

Context

  • A file system can use only one real-time scan policy.
  • An antivirus server performs a real-time scan on a file system only when a real-time scan policy has been configured for the file system and the policy is enabled by default.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > Antivirus > On-Access Scan.
  3. Create a real-time scan policy.
    1. Click Create.

The Create Real-Time Scan Wizard dialog box is displayed.

    2. Select the file system that you want to scan and click Next.
    3. Select a scan policy and set the policy's default status. Then click Next.

      The Summary page is displayed.

      NOTE:

If the Default Status value is set to Closed, the system will not perform virus scan when a CIFS shared file is closed.

  4. When all the settings are correct, click Finish.

The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.

  5. Click Close.

Enabling a Real-Time Scan Policy

When a real-time scan policy is enabled, the antivirus server will scan the file system based on the policy every time a CIFS shared file is closed.

Prerequisites

The default status of the real-time scan policy is Enable.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > Antivirus > On-Access Scan.
  3. Select the real-time scan policy that you want to enable and click Enable.

The Confirm dialog box is displayed.

  4. After you confirm the information, click OK.

The Execution Result dialog box is displayed indicating that the operation succeeded.

  5. Click Close.

Managing a Real-time Scan Policy

This section describes how to modify a real-time scan policy and enable or disable the real-time scan service as necessary.

Prerequisites

At least one real-time scan policy exists in the system.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > Antivirus > On-Access Scan.
  3. Select the real-time scan policy that you want to modify and click Properties.

The Properties dialog box is displayed.

  4. Modify the scan policy and its default status. Then click OK.

The Success dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.

  5. Click OK.

Follow-up Procedure

You can view details about a real-time scan policy, delete a real-time scan policy that is no longer required, or disable real-time scan so that antivirus servers stop scanning files shared using CIFS.
