Routine maintenance activities are the most common activities for the storage device, including powering on or off the storage device, managing users, modifying basic parameters of the storage device, and managing hardware components. This document applies to the system administrators who are responsible for carrying out routine maintenance activities, monitoring the storage device, and rectifying common device faults.

Modifying a Management Port

When the networking mode between a storage device and a maintenance terminal changes, modify the settings of management port parameters to ensure proper communication between them.


Modifying management ports interrupts communication between the storage device and the maintenance terminal.


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose System.
  3. Select the controller enclosure where the management port resides.
  4. Click to switch to the rear view.
  5. Click the management port whose information you want to view.

    The Management Port dialog box is displayed.

  6. Modify the management port.
    1. Click Modify.

    2. In the IPv4 Address or IPv6 Address text box, enter an IP address for the management port.
    3. In the Subnet Mask or Prefix text box, enter a subnet mask or prefix for the management port.
    4. In the IPv4 Gateway or IPv6 Gateway text box, enter a gateway for the IP address of the management port.
  7. Confirm the management port modification.
    1. Click Apply.

      The security alert dialog box is displayed.

    2. Confirm the information in the dialog box and select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation..
    3. Click OK.

      The Success dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.

    4. Click OK.
