Routine maintenance activities are the most common activities for the storage device, including powering on or off the storage device, managing users, modifying basic parameters of the storage device, and managing hardware components. This document applies to the system administrators who are responsible for carrying out routine maintenance activities, monitoring the storage device, and rectifying common device faults.

Viewing Reports

This section describes how to set monitoring options on the SystemReporter performance analysis tool to view system performance reports.


The SystemReporter has been installed, and its version matches the device version.


For details about how to install the SystemReporter, see the corresponding SystemReporter user guide.


  1. Log in to the OceanStor SystemReporter.
  2. Customize the panel of the home page.
    1. Click Customize Panels.
      The Customize Panels dialog box is displayed.
    2. Set Device and select desired performance indicators.

      A maximum of four user-defined objects are supported.

    3. Click OK.
      The Success dialog box is displayed.
    4. Click OK.
      The panel customization is successful.
    5. (Optional) Adjust the panel layout to suit your needs.

      When the cursor is moved onto a graph title and its pointer becomes a bidirectional arrow, press the left mouse key to drag the graph to another location, as shown in Figure 10-1. Then click Save Layout.

  3. View real-time monitoring reports.
    1. (Optional) Choose System > System Configuration > Registration and Configuration.
    2. Choose a device, and click Collection Policy and set a performance data collection policy in real-time monitoring mode.
    3. Choose Monitoring > Real-Time Monitoring and select an object to be monitored, such as a controller, disk, storage pool, or LUN.
    4. In the function pane, check the performance monitoring view of the selected object.
    5. (Optional) Click Select Indicator Template. In the dialog box that is displayed, select another template.

      If the existing template cannot meet the requirement, you can create one.
      1. Click Create Indicator Template.

        The Create Indicator Template dialog box is displayed.

      2. Set Name and Description of the indicator template and click Add Indicator.
      3. In the Add Indicator dialog box that is displayed, select the indicators that you want to monitor and click OK.
      4. Click OK.

        The Success dialog box that is displayed.

      5. Click OK.

        The indicator template is successfully created.

    6. (Optional) Click Export to export the real-time monitoring graph.
  4. View the performance or capacity trend analysis of a resource object.
    1. Choose Trend > Trend Analysis and select a resource object.
    2. In the function pane, select Statistical period. Then view the performance or capacity trend analysis graph of the resource object in a specific period of time.
    3. (Optional) Click Export to export desired trend analysis graphs.
  5. View the performance or capacity comparison analysis of a resource object.
    1. Choose Trend > Comparison Analysis and select a device name.
    2. In the function pane, view the performance summary of the device.
    3. Click Set Comparison Options to compare the performance or capacity data of the resource object, as shown in Figure 10-2.
