Routine maintenance activities are the most common activities for the storage device, including powering on or off the storage device, managing users, modifying basic parameters of the storage device, and managing hardware components. This document applies to the system administrators who are responsible for carrying out routine maintenance activities, monitoring the storage device, and rectifying common device faults.

Checking Device Status

Checking Device Status

The system information page displays the current operating status, alarm information, system capacity trend, and system performance of a storage system. The information helps you prepare for device management and maintenance.


  1. Log in to OceanStor DeviceManager.
    The OceanStor DeviceManager management page is displayed.
  2. In the navigation tree on the right, click Home.
    The DeviceManager management page is displayed.
  3. In the Basic Information area, check whether Device Status is normal.
  4. In the Disk Information area, check the disk usage of the storage system.
  5. In the Alarms area, check alarm information. Click Show All.
    The Alarms and Events page is displayed, listing all current alarms. If an alarm is found, clear it in a timely manner by taking recommended actions.
  6. In the System Capacity Trend area, check the available capacity and used capacity of the storage system.
  7. In the Performance area, check the performance of the storage system.

Follow-up Procedure

If the storage system status is abnormal, collect related information and contact technical support engineers.
