Modifying the Settings for Dumping Performance Monitoring Statistics(Applicable to V300R003C20)

Modifying the Settings for Dumping Performance Monitoring Statistics(Applicable to V300R003C20)

After enabling the dumping for performance monitoring statistics, you can dump performance monitoring statistics to a specific server using File Transfer Protocol (FTP) or Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP).

Prerequisites

  • The dump function for the performance monitoring statistics has been enabled.
  • If performance monitoring statistics is stored on an FTP server, the communication is normal between the FTP server and the storage system. To improve communication reliability, you are advised to configure the FTP server and the storage system on the same LAN and their IP addresses in the same network segment.
  • If performance monitoring statistics is stored on an SFTP server, the communication is normal between the SFTP server and the storage system. To improve communication reliability, you are advised to configure the SFTP server and the storage system on the same LAN and their IP addresses in the same network segment.
  • If performance monitoring statistics is stored on an FTP server and a firewall is configured on the network, port 21 is enabled.
  • If performance monitoring statistics is stored on an SFTP server and a firewall is configured on the network, port 22 is enabled.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > Monitor Settings > Dump Settings.
  3. Modify the settings for dumping performance monitoring statistics.
    1. Select Enable.
    2. In Transport protocol, select SFTP or FTP.

      NOTE:

To ensure compatibility, the system still supports File Transfer Protocol (FTP). It is recommended to use the Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) for data transfer security.

    3. In Username, type a username.
    4. In Password, type a password for the username.
    5. In Server Address, type the IP address or domain name of the server.
    6. In File Save Path, type a path for storing the performance monitoring statistics to be dumped.

      NOTE:

A saving path is set on the user FTP software. Users need to create a folder in the saving path. Enter the folder name in File Save Path. If you need to save the file to the root directory, Enter / in File Save Path.

Example: If the save path configured on the FTP is G:\ and the folder name is alarm, enter alarm in File Save Path on the DeviceManager interface.

    7. Optional: Click Test, to ensure that the configured parameter is correct by dumping a performance file.
  4. Click Save.

The Execution Result dialog box is displayed indicating that the operation succeeded.

  5. Click Close s.
