change clone restore

change clone restore

The change clone restore command is used to reversely synchronize existing secondary logical unit numbers (LUNs) for a clone task.

change clone restore clone_id=? lun_id=?

clone_id=? ID of a clone task for which you want to perform reverse synchronization.

To obtain the value, run "show clone general".

lun_id=? ID of a secondary LUN.

To obtain the value, run "show clone secondary_lun".

Usage Guidelines

  • For a clone task, performing this operation overwrites the data of the primary LUN using that of the selected secondary LUN. Before performing this operation, stop all host services. Resume host services after reverse synchronization have been started.
  • Before performing this operation, ensure that the selected source LUN has been backed up and that the data of the LUN is safe to be overwritten.
  • Each clone pair supports the primary LUN to be reversely synchronized with one secondary LUN. This means that other secondary LUNs except the selected one must be split from the primary LUN.

To reversely synchronize secondary LUN "9" for clone task "3", run the following command.

admin:/>change clone restore clone_id=3 lun_id=9
DANGER: You are about to reversely synchronize a secondary LUN in clone. This operation will copy the data on secondary LUN to primary LUN to overwrite the original data on primary LUN.
Suggestion: Before performing this operation:
1. Ensure that data on the primary LUN has been backed up, and I/O requests to the primary LUN have been suspended.
2. Ensure that the data on primary LUN can be overwritten.
3. During the reverse synchronization, the secondary LUN can be read only, host services on the secondary LUN will be stopped.
4. Ensure that you have selected correct primary LUN and secondary LUN to avoid misoperations.
