Command Line Completion

Command Line Completion

On the command line interface (CLI), you can either press the Tab or space key to complete a command line in stages.

NOTE:
Though both keys can be used to complete the operating segment of a command line, they imply a difference. Pressing the Tab key completes the operating segment while displaying all the possible values for the segment, whereas pressing the space key simply completes the operating segment. The following example is based on using the Tab key.
  • Press Tab once to display the available starting segments of a command line.
    admin:/>//Press Tab.
    add change clear
    create delete exit
    export help import
    pause poweroff poweron
    reboot remove restore
    resume scan show
    swap test upgrad
  • After the starting segment is determined and completed, press Enter once to display the available adjacent segments of the starting segment.
    admin:/>add//Press Enter.
    cache_partition clone
    consistency_group devicemanager

    hyper_metro_consistency_group hyper_metro_domain
    hypervault identity_mapping
    kmc logical_port
    lun_copy lun_group
    mapping_view mirror_lun
    notification ntp_server
    port port_group

    smart_cache_partition smart_cache_pool
    smartqos_policy smtp_server
    snmp storage_pool
    virtual_machine
  • When part of a segment has been typed and its intact form can be determined by the CLI, pressing Tab once completes the segment while displaying available adjacent segments.
    admin:/>add po//Press Tab.
    admin:/>add port
    port port_group

  • When an intact command line has been typed, pressing Enter responds you with a message stating that the command line can be executed. In this condition, pressing Enter executes the command line.
    admin:/>add port ipv4_route eth_port_id=ENG0.A3.P0 type=net target_ip=192.168.3.0 mask=255.255.255.0 gateway=192.168.1.1//Press Enter.
