change clone split

change clone split

Function

The change clone split command is used to split existing secondary logical unit numbers (LUNs) from the primary LUN of a clone pair. After the split is complete, the synchronization between the primary and secondary LUNs will be lost.

Format

change clone split { clone_id=? lun_id_list=? | pair_id_list=? }

Parameters

Parameter

Description

Value

clone_id=? ID of a clone task.

To obtain the value, run "show clone general".

lun_id_list=? IDs of secondary LUNs.

To obtain the value, run "show clone secondary_lun".

To split multiple LUNs in a batch, separate the IDs of those LUNs by commas (,), or ID range separated by hyphens (-), such as: 0, 5-8 for this command.

pair_id_list=? IDs of pairs.

To obtain the value, run "show clone secondary_lun".

To split multiple pairs in a batch, separate the IDs of those pairs by commas (,), or ID range separated by hyphens (-), such as: 0, 5-8 for this command.

A maximun of 8192 pairs are allowed to splited once time.

The value of pair ranges from "0" to "16383".

Level

Administrator

Usage Guidelines

  • For a clone pair, running this command cancels the synchronization between the primary and secondary LUNs.
  • Before running this command, ensure that the selected clone task is exactly the one you want to split.
  • After you split a secondary LUN from the primary LUN, the data of the secondary LUN will be consistent with that of the primary LUN. A secondary LUN is available to serve as a backup of the primary LUN only when the status of the secondary LUN is consistent or synchronized.

Example

  • To split secondary LUN "8" and LUN "9" from the primary LUN for clone task "3".

    admin:/>change clone split clone_id=3 lun_id_list=8,9
    CAUTION: You are going to split secondary LUN in clone group. This operation removes the primary/secondary relationship, that is, stop copying data and maintaining the data consistency between the primary and secondary LUNs anymore.
    Suggestion: Before you perform this operation, ensure that the primary/secondary synchronization or reverse synchronization has been completed. As a result, the data on the primary LUN or secondary LUN is available after split.
    Do you wish to continue?(y/n)y
    Split the secondary LUN 8 successfully.
    Split the secondary LUN 9 successfully.
  • To consistently split clone pairs whose IDs are "0" and "2".

    admin:/>change clone split pair_id_list=0,2
    CAUTION: You are about to split clone pairs. This operation removes the primary/secondary relationship, that is, stop copying data, and the data consistency between the primary and secondary LUNs will not be maintained anymore.
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that the primary/secondary synchronization has been completed. As a result, the data on the primary LUNs or secondary LUNs is available after split.
    Do you wish to continue?(y/n)y
    Command executed successfully.
