Function

The reboot virtual_machine command is used to reboot a virtual machine.

Format

reboot virtual_machine vm_id=? [ is_force=? ]

Parameters

vm_id=? VM ID.

Run the "show virtual_machine general" command without any parameter to obtain the value.

is_force=? Whether the VM is forcibly rebooted.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": The VM is forcibly rebooted.
  • "no": The VM is not forcibly rebooted.

Usage Guidelines

Only OceanStor 5300 V3 (32 GB memory), 5500 V3 (48 GB/64 GB memory), 5600 V3 (64 GB/128 GB memory), and 5800 V3 (128 GB/256 GB memory) support this command.

Example

  • Reboot a VM.

    admin:/>reboot virtual_machine vm_id=1 
    WARNING: You are about to restart a virtual machine. This operation will interrupt all the services on the virtual machine, maybe cause data loss.
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that data has been saved.
    Have you read warning message carefully?(y/n)y
    Are you sure you really want to perform the operation?(y/n)y
    Command executed successfully.
  • Forcibly reboot a VM.

    admin:/>reboot virtual_machine vm_id=1 is_force=yes
    DANGER: You are about to forcibly restart a virtual machine.This operation will interrupt all the services on the virtual machine, maybe cause data loss.
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that data has been saved.
    Have you read danger alert message carefully?(y/n)y
    Are you sure you really want to perform the operation?(y/n)y
