Installing a BIOS Battery

Installing a BIOS Battery

After removing a BIOS battery that is faulty or low in power, install a new one.


Install a BIOS battery in either of the following scenarios:

  • A faulty BIOS battery is removed.
  • A BIOS battery that is low in power is removed.

Figure 8-84 shows the position of the BIOS battery in the CH225 V3.

Data preparation is not required for this operation.


  • Electrostatic discharge (ESD) gloves
  • Packing materials, for example, ESD bag


  1. Take a BIOS battery out of its ESD bag.
  2. Hold the battery with the text side facing upwards, insert the left end of the battery into the slot, and gently press down the battery until it is properly installed in the slot. See Figure 8-85.
