Removing a BIOS Battery

Removing a BIOS Battery

If a BIOS battery is faulty or is low in power, remove it before replacing it with a new one.


Remove a BIOS battery in either of the following scenarios:

  • A BIOS battery is faulty.
  • A BIOS battery is low in power.

Figure 8-82 shows the position of the BIOS battery in the CH225 V3.

Data preparation is not required for this operation.


  • Electrostatic discharge (ESD) gloves
  • Packing materials, for example, ESD bag


  1. Press the two latches in the directions shown by (1) in Figure 8-83 until one end of the BIOS battery ejects. Then remove the entire battery from the slot, as shown by (2) in Figure 8-83.

  2. Place the removed BIOS battery in an ESD bag.
