Removing the TPM

This section describes the precautions and procedure for removing the trusted platform module (TPM) from a CH225 V3.


Remove a TPM in any of the following scenarios:

  • The TPM is faulty.
  • The TPM needs to be replaced with a newer model.

Figure 8-66 shows the position of the TPM on the CH225 V3.

Data preparation is not required for this operation.


  • Electrostatic discharge (ESD) gloves.
  • M3 Phillips screwdriver.
  • Packing materials, for example, ESD bag.


  1. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws that secure TPM. See step (1) in Figure 8-67.

  2. Remove the TPM from the mainboard. See step (2) in Figure 8-67.
  3. Place the removed TPM in an ESD bag.
