Removing a DIMM and Air Duct

This section describes the precautions and procedure for removing a DIMM and air duct from a CH225 V3.


Remove a DIMM in any of the following scenarios:

  • The DIMM is faulty.
  • The DIMM needs to be replaced by a newer model.




Data preparation is not required for this operation.


  • ESD gloves.
  • Packaging materials, for example, ESD bags.


  1. Remove the air duct.

    Lift the air duct, as shown in Figure 8-26.

  2. Remove a DIMM.

    1. Determine the DIMM to be removed.
    2. Release the two retaining clips that secure the DIMM. See step 1 in Figure 8-27.

    3. Remove the DIMM from the slot. See step 2 in Figure 8-27.
    4. Place the removed DIMM in an ESD bag.
    5. (Optional) Install a protective cover in the DIMM slot if you do not want to install a DIMM immediately.
