Configuring iBMC

Configuring iBMC

This section describes the methods of changing the default iBMC password and configuring the IP address of the iBMC.

Change the iBMC user password of the CH225 V3 and configure the IP address of iBMC to enhance system operation and maintenance (O&M) security.

  • Ensure that the password complexity check is enabled. The password complexity check is enabled by default.
  • For security purposes, change the initial password upon the first login, and then change the password regularly.

Impact on the System

This operation has no adverse impact on the system.

  • The CH225 V3 is powered on.
  • You have logged in to the MM910 WebUI.
  • The compute node iBMC IP address cannot be on the network segment for the chassis management plane.

The network segment for the chassis management plane is used for functions such as HMM and iBMC heartbeats.

  • Default iBMC user name and password are shown in Table 5-3.

    Default Password

The default user for the iBMC system belongs to the administrator group. The default user can access all resources in the iBMC system and perform all available functions.

  • IP address of iBMC.

  1. Change the default iBMC password.

    1. On the HMM Web page, select System Management.

The System Management page is displayed.

    2. In the navigation tree on the left of the System Management page, choose Account Management > Node User Management.

    4. Enter the current user password (default password is Huawei12#$) and new password, enter the new password again, and click OK.

The default password of iBMC is successfully changed.

  2. Configure the iBMC IP address.

To avoid conflicts with the network segment for the chassis management plane (172.31), the compute node iBMC IP address cannot be on the 172.31 network segment. If you need to set it to be on the 172.31 network segment, change the network segment for the chassis management plane first. For details, see section "Querying and Setting a Network Segment for the Management Plane of a Chassis (subnet)" in the MM910 Management Module V100R001 Command Reference.

    1. On the HMM Web page, select Chassis Settings.

The Chassis Settings page is displayed.

    2. In the navigation tree on the left of the Chassis Settings page, choose Network Settings > Node.
