This document describes the appearance, functions, and structure of the CH225 V3 storage expansion compute node (CH225 V3 for short), and methods of installing, removing, and configuring the CH225 V3.

This topic describes how to configure the CH225 V3.

Configuration Process

Figure 5-1 shows the process for configuring the CH225 V3.

Check the compute node.

  • Check he compute node version and ensure that it meets site requirements.
  • Check for alarms about the compute node.

Configure iBMC

  • Change the password for an iBMC user.
  • Configure the iBMC IP address.

Log in to the real-time desktop.

Log in to the CH225 V3 through the web user interface (WebUI) of the MM910.

Configure the redundant array of independent disks (RAID).

The mainboard supports four types of RAID controller cards: LSISAS2208, LSISAS2308, LSISAS3008, and LSISAS3108.

  • LSISAS2208: supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60.
  • LSISAS2308: supports RAID 0, 1, 1E, and 10.
  • LSISAS3008: supports RAID 0, 1, 1E, and 10.
  • LSISAS3108: supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60.

Set the basic input/output system (BIOS).

Configure the compute node BIOS, including the boot mode, network drive, preboot execution environment (PXE) options of network interface cards (NICs), and BIOS password.

Install an operating system (OS).

Install an OS for the CH225 V3.
