(Optional) Configuring a Backup IGMP Proxy Interface

(Optional) Configuring a Backup IGMP Proxy Interface

Context

Generally, the IGMP proxy function becomes unavailable if the upstream interface with IGMP proxy configured fails. To enhance reliability of the IGMP service, configure a backup IGMP proxy interface after configuring IGMP proxy on the upstream interface. When the upstream interface fails, the backup interface takes over the IGMP proxy service to resume multicast services.

Procedure

  1. Run:

    system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run:

    interface interface-type interface-number

    The interface view is displayed.

  3. Run:

    igmp proxy backup

The interface is configured as a backup IGMP proxy interface.

By default, no backup IGMP proxy interface is configured.
