Enabling MLD Snooping

Enabling MLD Snooping

Context

Enabling global MLD snooping is the prerequisite for other MLD snooping configurations. Enabling MLD snooping in a VLAN is the prerequisite for other MLD snooping configurations to take effect in the VLAN. If MLD snooping is disabled in a VLAN, other MLD snooping configurations will be successful but do not take effect until MLD snooping is enabled in the VLAN.

By default, MLD snooping is disabled globally.

Procedure

  1. Run:

    system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run:

    mld-snooping enable

    MLD snooping is enabled globally.

  3. Run:

    vlan vlan-id

    The VLAN view is displayed.

  4. Run:

    mld-snooping enable

MLD snooping is enabled in a VLAN.

You can run the mld-snooping enable [ vlan { vlan-id1 [ to vlan-id2 ] } &<1-10> ] command in the system view to enable MLD snooping in multiple VLANs.
