PPP/4/PEERNOCHAP:On the interface [interface-name], authentication failed and PPP link was closed because CHAP was disabled on the peer.

Description

The CHAP authentication function became ineffective on the peer device functioning as the authenticated device. As a result, the peer device failed to pass the authentication and the PPP link was disconnected.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
[interface-name] Indicates the local interface name.

Possible Causes

The local device is the authenticating device and has CHAP authentication configured. However, CHAP authentication is not configured on the peer device functioning as the authenticated device.

Procedure

  1. Configure the same authentication protocol on both the local and peer devices.
