This section describes the configuration notes for URL filtering.

License Support

URL filtering is a basic feature of the router and is not under license control.

The URL filtering function is used with a license. To use the URL filtering function, apply for and purchase Value-added Router Package from the Huawei local office.

Feature Dependencies and Limitations

When deploying URL filtering on the router, pay attention to the following:

  • The device supports URL filtering that involve personal communication information collection or storage. Huawei will not collect or save user communication information independently. You must use the features in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Ensure that your customers' privacy is protected when you are collecting or saving communication information.
  • URL filtering applies only to HTTP URL requests.
  • Among the AR500 series routers, only AR503GW-LM7, AR503GW-LcM7, AR509G-L-D-H, AR509GW-L-D-H, support URL filtering function.

  • AR530 series support URL filtering function.
